Food Menu

Ward's Bar and Bistro is perfectly situated to give you the most outstanding food from our beautiful corner of the world. Whether it is prime Exmoor beef, sustainably sourced fish or seafood from our local fishing fleet, we are sure we can cater for all tastes.

If you have any allergies or particular dietary requirements, please feel free to contact us before visiting so we can advise and make menu recommendations for you.

With advance notice, we are happy to provide bespoke meals, just let us know what you fancy and when you will be visiting and we can take care of the rest. So whether it is a child who will only eat chicken nuggets, Grandma who has to have liver and onions, a fussy vegan teen or just your favourite dish in the world, with a few days notice we would be delighted to accomodate you.

Starters

  • Whitebait, deep fried served with watercress and garlic mayonnaise - 9
  • Prawns placed on a bed of salad, topped off with a cocktail sauce and a side of warm crusty bread - 9
  • Pan Fried Mushrooms in a rich creamy garlic sauce, with warm crusty bread - 9
  •  Oven baked Camembert with Vermouth and Chilli Flakes, served with warm crusty bread, (Ideal for sharing)  - 13
  • Duck Liver and Pork Pate with Orange and Cognac Liquor, served with  watercress and warm crusty bread  - 8

Main Courses

 

  • Grilled Duck breast, served with the chefs homemade Port, Brandy and black cherry sauce  - 22
  • 28 day matured Exmoor Ribeye steak, grilled to your liking, served with Brandy, garlic and herb butter - 26
  • Venison steak served with the chefs Bordelaise sauce  - 26
  • Locally Caught  Fresh Seabass Fillet - 21
  • Locally Caught Fresh Hake Fillet served with a homemade caper sauce  - 21
  • Chicken breast with a garlic butter glaze wrapped in Parma Ham - 21

All meals are served with fresh vegetables and a choice of potatoes.

We also have a specials menu which changes daily.

Sunday Lunch

We serve Sunday lunch every Sunday, come rain or shine. Once its gone, its gone for the day though, and we do get busy. If you would like to book a table, just contact us.
